What’s more fun than an Afternoon Tea Party?

A tea party you share with your favorite American Girl Doll… (or any 18 inch doll) at Teaberry’s! Program includes child’s favor, craft, Tea Bingo and Tea Memory game. Step outside the cup into a world of culinary possibilities with tea. Learn how to use this versatile ingredient to create memorable dishes. Finger foods, presentation and recipes included. Susan Wyatt Peterson, owner of Teaberrys and a certified Tea Consultant with the Protocol School of Washington DC, will provide the presentation.

Tea Tastings
Come and sample 6 types of each particular type of tea while learning the history and details of how each is harvested and processed. The presentation is accompanied by a buffet consisting of tea sandwiches, scones, bite size desserts and plenty of tea. Susan Wyatt Peterson, owner of Teaberrys and a certified
Tea Consultant with the Protocol School of Washington DC,

“Julia Says Bon Appetit!”
Julia Child is coming to Teaberry’s! Julia was an American cook, author, and television personality who introduced French cuisine and cooking techniques to America. While her public face and voice became familiar to all of us, this program focuses on her private side especially her relationship with her husband Paul Child.
Served with a four course French dinner (BYOB) inspired by Julia herself.

Martha Washington (a.k.a. the other Martha) will be at Teaberry’s to talk about her interesting life while an authentic 4 course Colonial period supper will be served. This property (2 Main St) has a fascinating history during the Revolutionary War. Her husband, George, actually did spend the night at this site on the ‘Main Road to Trenton’.
You are invited to join us for this trip back in time.

Mary Poppins Tea
Hi kids! It’s Mary Poppins, come straight from London to visit you here in New Jersey! Spit spot! Have a spoonful of sugar in your warm cup of tea and join us for a delightful afternoon tea experience. I will show you everything you need to know about tea and etiquette plus a few sing-alongs. You will take home a special gift from me as well. So please join your favorite nanny for this fun event!
Children will be served Teaberry’s Prince or Princess Tea and adults the Milady’s Tea.

Manners Really Do Matter!
A fun, interactive and informative two hour etiquette class for boys and girls aged 7-12. Topics include: Party Manners, Host/Hostess Responsibilities, Conversational Skills, Place Settings, Dining Etiquette. Certificate upon completion. This program is taught by Susan Peterson, owner of Teaberry’s and a certified tea and etiquette consultant trained by The Protocol School of Washington. Parents wishing to stay may make reservations in one of our other dining rooms.
This class is limited to eight children to provide personal attention.
Proper dress required.


Join us for a four course High Tea (supper) featuring authentic English fare from the early 19th century era while you hear stories, customs and traditions of the Regency period from our featured guest, Eliza Blackwell Dupree. This provides a wonderful opportunity for those familiar with the novels of Miss Jane Austen to discuss them among fellow fans.

Tea Cozy Workshop and Camaraderie

We will be starting this pictured knitted tea cozy using washable worsted weight yarn in your choice of color (maroon, deep teal, Wedgwood blue, chocolate or black). Accent colors are also available for the optional stripes at the class. Some basic knitting skills are required as well as size 7 needles.
Teaberry’s will provide the yarn, instructions, assistance if needed, as well as your choice of tea, fruit cup and a scone with all the trimmings. So please join us as we knit to keep our tea warm!

Learn about Edible Flowers

An hour talk covering all aspects of edible flowers including discussion of each one as well as its history, preparation and uses; includes a slide presentation, buffet and taste testing. Lists of edible and poisonous flowers are given to each participant, as well as several recipes. Susan Wyatt Peterson, owner of Teaberrys, a Master Gardener and member of the Garden Club of New Jersey, will provide the presentation.

Learn the history of the Teddy Bear – whose popularity originated in the 1920’s with President Teddy Roosevelt as well as that famous bear – Winnie the Pooh. Part of the FUN includes singing Teddy Bear songs and playing Teddy games with prizes. Table favors for all children included. We shall also talk about Tea service and manners from a child’s point of view. Children and adults will have tea sandwiches, desserts and choice of beverage.
Do not forget to bring your most favorite teddy – we have seating and china for him (or her) too! Please join us for a beary good time.


Come and meet Eliza Blackwell Dupree, a fictional survivor of the 1912 Titanic sinking. Learn some interesting facts about the ship, the voyage and some of the passengers. You will be transported back to the scene of the tragic sinking in the Victorian themed décor of Teaberry’s.
Flamboyant hats are welcome!

Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion are transported “Over the Rainbow” to adventures in Munchkin Land, the Haunted Forest and the Emerald City. The entire family will be captivated in a totally unforgettable evening of live theatre featuring all the classic songs everyone loves.
A three course dinner will be served. There will be photo opportunities with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion. All children will receive Goody Bags.

Queen Victoria’s Birthday Tea
Come and meet the Queen!

Teaberrys Tea Room features an informative program on Queen Victoria's tea traditions as well as information on British tea history, tea customs and etiquette as we celebrate the beloved Queen's birthday. Queen Victoria, who truly enjoyed tea and sweet confections, popularized tea parties in England during the 1860's. We shall enjoy some of her favorite treats as we celebrate her life.
The afternoon tea party will include the Queen’s Royale Tea (a six course tea service) with special Victorian era treats.

Evening with the Medium Arlene
Teaberry’s is offering a unique memorable opportunity to a limited number of guests by reservation only. Guests will enjoy a delicious candlelit soup/quiche/salad/dessert dinner (BYOB) followed by a group meeting with Arlene. She will walk in your midst and perhaps deliver a message to you from beyond. Arlene uses her gift of God to bring messages to some audience members from their deceased loved ones. Bring an open heart and mind and perhaps you will be amongst those lucky guests who will receive such a message. I have personally observed Arlene’s work and it is truly amazing. Arlene has helped many personal friends of mine by answering their questions through her ability to connect with the other side. This is an event not to be missed!

CHANOYU- A Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony

Teaberry’s, an English style tearoom, pays homage to the Eastern origins of Tea by presenting a Japanese Tea Ceremony Demonstration taught by the Urasenke School of tea.
The program begins with a discussion and overview of the afternoon’s activities - followed by Japanese style “Tea Sandwiches” and your choice of tea. Whisked green tea (matcha) will then be prepared in the recreated tea space within the dining room by our tea expert and served in tea bowls. An authentic Japanese confection will be served with the matcha. The final course will be additional oriental style desserts during which our teacher will answer any questions.
The licensed teacher is Drew Hanson, owner of Boukakuan, a Japanese Tea house and Garden in NJ. He also offers lessons and demonstrations at Shofuso located in Fairmont Park, Pa. Drew has been studying Chanoyu since 1995 and enjoys sharing The Japanese Way of Tea.

Bastille Day Luncheon

Journey to 18th century France and spend the afternoon with a lady in waiting to Marie Antoinette, wife to the King of France, Louis XVI. Learn about her life as a very young queen and how she soon learned to navigate her way around the French court. A four course authentic French luncheon will be lavishly served. Yes, there will be cake!

Eleanor Roosevelt Celebration

Eleanor Roosevelt will be portrayed in a captivating re-enactment of her life featuring insights into her character and major achievements. Considered one of the 20th century’s most influential and admired women she was a tireless advocate of women’s, children’s and human rights. President Truman called her the “First Lady of the World” as a tribute. She held many Press Teas and this will be a 4 course Tea Party reflective of that era.

Historical Fashion Show & Tea

“Her Ladyship’s Wardrobe”
This special event will feature museum quality gowns and accessories from the Gilded Age presented by fashion historian Sue Quincannon. You will be amazed with this fascinating glimpse into the Victorian and Edwardian eras by learning about the fashion styles and etiquette from the mid 1800s to the early 1900s. The afternoon tea party will include a three course tea service with special Victorian era treats
